Scurcola Marsicana is an Italian municipality ( comune ) with 2781 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019) in the province of L'Aquila in Abruzzo . The municipality is located on a hill at the foot of Monte San Nicola , about 35 kilometers (as the crow flies) west of L'Aquila . It is part of the Comunità Montana Marsica . The Fucino is located a few kilometers east of the community.
