description

Delaware Drive on the edge of Westfall Township

Pennsylvania Route 963 began at the intersection with US 6 and US 209 at the Mid-Delaware Bridge in Matamoras. Today it runs as Pike County Quadrant Route 1017 as Millrift Road (also known as Delaware Drive) to the north, where it crosses several local roads. Most of the street in Matamoras runs through residential areas. After the street crosses Avenue C, it leads out of Matamoras into Westfall Township on the banks of the Delaware River . Further north, it intersects Pike County Quadrant Route 1015, which runs east.

Delaware Drive on the edge of Millrift

On the banks of the Delaware River, the route runs through poorly built-up terrain. After the intersection with Decker Lane, the development decreases. After LaBarr Lane, the route swings west at a bend in the river. The development becomes even thinner as the route through the adjacent hill country rises. It leads further north at the foot of a mountain and thus reaches the village of Millrift, where the PA 963 ended until its dissolution in 1946. Today's Quadrant Route 1017 leads further into the village.

history

Pennsylvania State Route 963 was dedicated in 1928 when most of the state routes in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania were designated. At the time, the route was the easternmost main road in the state. Like a number of other streets of this type, it was graduated in 1946. Today the route is part of Pike County Quadrant Route 1017.
