Pentadin is a sweet-tasting protein that - like the sweet-tasting brazzein - was isolated in 1989 from the fruits of the Central African liana plant Pentadiplandra brazzeana .

It is said to have a sweetness of around 500. The taste impression is similar to that of Monellin and a little less that of Thaumatin . The molecular mass of pentadine is estimated to be 12  kDa .
