Pentapolis (Italy)
The Pentapolis (Gr. "Five Cities") was part of the Exarchate of Ravenna in the early Middle Ages .
There were different definitions of this Pentapolis at different times. This always includes five cities on the western Adriatic coast in today's regions of Marche , Emilia-Romagna and / or Umbria of Italy.
