Penyrheol ( Welsh Pen-yr-heol ) is a suburb of Swansea , Wales in Penyrheol ward . Located about 7 mi (11 km) northwest of downtown Swansea in northwest Gorseinon and is an electoral district of the City and County of Swansea Council .
geography
Penyrheol lies between the River Loughor in the west and the M 4 in the east, on the northern edge of Gorseinon . To the north there is a connection to Grovesend , after the shale and coal formation Grovesend Formation is named.
Culture
The first day school was built in Penyrheol in 1880. Today there are two schools on site: a Primary School and the Penyrheol Comprehensive School . The latter was destroyed by arson on Saturday March 18, 2006. The damage amounted to £ 10 million. The school did not reopen until September 4, 2009.
The Penyrheol Leisure center is the local sports facility with swimming pool, gymnastics halls and theater. The Penyrheol Swimming Club trains in this swimming pool .
