PeopleSoft

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

PeopleSoft was a large, international provider of ERP and CRM software. PeopleSoft was particularly strong in the USA , while in Germany they were viewed more as a provider of personnel information systems . This resulted from the fact that PeopleSoft started out as a pure HCM / HR software manufacturer, then developed Fin SCM applications, which were not widely used in Germany, and only after the takeover of the then second largest manufacturer of CRM software, Vantive , in 2000, had its own CRM product in its portfolio.

PeopleSoft fought a takeover battle with their larger competitor Oracle between mid-2003 and December 2004 . Oracle CEO Larry Ellison in particular made a name for himself during this time, as he often took events very personally. On December 13, 2004 , Oracle made a $ 10.3 billion offer to acquire PeopleSoft, which PeopleSoft shareholders accepted. PeopleSoft and the PeopleSoft applications now belong to Oracle.
