Pepee is a Turkish 3D cartoon series for children . The series is aimed at preschoolers. Produced by the Düşyeri cartoon studio, has been on the TRT-Çocuk program since 2008 . New episodes have been shown on Show TV since 2014 , TRT-Çocuk continues to show the old episodes twice a day. A few episodes are shown one after the other.
action
The series revolves around the eponymous cartoon character Pepee, a little boy with a mostly blue cap. In each episode Pepee learns something, e.g. B. colors, shapes, seasons, prepositions, Turkish folk dances. In addition to dialogues, especially between Pepee and Şuşu, there is at least one thematically appropriate song in almost every episode, mostly sung by Şuşu.
main characters
Pepee:
The main character, a four year old boy. The name Pepee comes from a term used in Anatolia for children with language difficulties.
Şuşu:
The narrator who is not visible to the audience. It is spoken by the producer Ayşe Şule Bilgiç. She conducts dialogues with the children and animals, but does not seem to exist for the adults.
Şila:
Pepee's precocious cousin. She often takes care of the flowers in her garden.
Zulu:
A mute pink giraffe. When she's not entertaining the kids, she's either lying in a lounge chair or hanging giraffe suits on the clothesline.
Bebe:
Pepee's little sister, she will celebrate her second birthday over the course of the series.
Köpüş:
The dog in the series.
Maymuş:
An orange little monkey who lives in a house in a tree, takes a train through the countryside and has a thing for bananas.
Kalış:
A mute pen with a face that assists the narrator. He can create things by drawing them.
Minor characters
The secondary characters include Eke, Şila's little brother, Pepee's and Şila's parents and their grandparents, as well as Zulu's seven different colored giraffe siblings. There are other animals in the series, some of which live on the grandparents' farm. a. the cows Kara and Sarı Möcük, the sheep Mecik, also cats, ladybugs, turtles, frogs and goats.
Similarities to Pocoyo
The Turkish media repeatedly reported similarities with the Spanish series Pocoyo and a legal dispute with its production company, Zinkia Entertainment.
Merchandising
Due to the great popularity of the series, the main character Pepee serves as an advertising medium for numerous products. TRT director İbrahim Şahin stated in August 2013 that TRT had made 1,480,000 TL with license sales.
TRT Çocuk publishes a children's magazine called "Pepee dergisi", of which over 100,000 copies are sold monthly.
The company Berko İlaç sells food supplements with the main character Pepee as an advertising medium.
Düşyeri-Studio sells a large number of licensed Pepee products.
