Per Lindstrand (born September 8, 1948 in Sweden ) is a Swedish aeronautical engineer, pilot, adventurer and entrepreneur. He is best known for his record-breaking transoceanic hot air balloon flights and his later attempts to be the first to fly a Rozière balloon around the earth - all with British entrepreneur Sir Richard Branson . He is also the founder of the hot air balloon manufacturer Lindstrand Balloons based in Oswestry , England.

Lindstrand not only flies balloons, but also many other airplanes, and has a flight pilot license for single and multi-engine land and sea planes and helicopters as well as a commercial pilot license for autogyros , airships and gliders. His long-standing dream of flying around the world in a hot air balloon (as opposed to a Rozière or gas balloon, which does not require a constant source of heat) remained unfulfilled. His distance, continuous and altitude records made him one of the most famous balloonists and aerostat designers and engineers in the world.
