Percee P , actually John Percy Simon (born July 9, 1969 in the Bronx , New York ) is an American underground hip-hop artist. After more than 14 years with numerous well-known guest appearances, he got a contract with the record label Stones Throw in 2003 .

Life

In 1988 his first single, Let The Homicides Begin , was released. Through his collaboration with Lord Finesse , he had the opportunity to host a sub-section of the radio station WKCR 89.9 FM . Percee P stood out for his extraordinary collection of old school hip-hop mixtapes. 1992 was released on the label Big Beat Now They Wanna See Me .

Little heard from him in the 1990s, only the two 12 inches (Lung Collapsing Lyrics / 1992 and Nowhere Near Simple / 1996) came out and he had a few guest appearances. In addition, he was sampled by DJ Shadow in Napalm Brain, Scatter Brain (on the album Endtroducing / 1996), which eventually made him famous ( Napalm! When the bombs activated it mutilates your legs and arms! ). At the time he was still selling his records on the streets and in clubs, and in 2003 he got his contract with Stones Throw.
