Coordinates: 22 ° 53 ′ 11 " N , 113 ° 34 ′ 6" E
The Pearl River overhead line crossing is part of the two-circuit 500 kV line from Jiangman to Shao Jiao across the Pearl River in China . It consists of an 80-meter-high mast on the west bank of the Pearl River, a 253-meter-high mast erected on an artificial island in the river, and a 240-meter-high mast on the eastern bank. The two masts are among the tallest overhead line masts in the world and their height exceeds the masts at Elbe crossing 2 near Stade. They have truss spans of 54.5 meters and 63.5 meters. The line span between the 253-meter mast and the 240-meter mast is 1,547 meters, with the pipeline at its lowest point at a height of 70 meters above the water surface. The masts are built in a Danube arrangement .
