Persatuan Sepakbola Indonesia Surakarta, Persis Solo for short, is a football club from Surakarta , Indonesia . The association was founded in 1923 in what was then the Dutch East Indies as Vorstenlandschen Voetbal Bond (VVB) . In 1928 it was renamed Persis.

The club currently plays in the second highest league in the country, Liga 2 .

Stadion

The club plays its home games in the 20,000-seat Manahan Stadium . The stadium, which was built in 1989, was renovated in 2018/2019 and has been available to Persis again as a venue since 2020. During the renovation, the club had to move to Madiun, 75 km away .
