Pesa (coin)

Pesa was a bronze coin circulating in German East Africa , minted by the German East African Society , which corresponded to the British East Indian pice .

1 pesa = 1/64 rupee

It was minted by the Royal Mint in Berlin . On April 1, 1905 , it was replaced by copper coins : 1 heller = 1/100 rupee and 1/2 heller = 1/200 rupee.
