Plague Crosses (Trittenheim)

The plague crosses in the Trittenheim district , seven small memorials (wayside shrines) erected between 1654 and 1657 , remember, according to tradition, the thanks of seven families for surviving the plague in the Thirty Years War .

They are of a similar structure (consisting of shaft and picture attachment), but differ in form and content due to their different date of origin. None of the wayside shrines indicate the motif of the plague in its inscription or in a special sculptural design .

Location: Leaning on a house gable at the confluence of Hofstrasse and Spielesstrasse
