Wayside shrine at Eching am Ammersee

The wayside shrine (also known as the epidemic column ) in Eching am Ammersee , a municipality in the Upper Bavarian district of Landsberg am Lech , is about two meters high and made of tuff . The listed wayside shrine was probably erected in 1548 on the southern edge of the village green.

A stone lantern is placed on a column . This originally contained a sculpture of Jesus crucified . Over the centuries, the stone was exposed to severe weathering . The Jesus figure is missing today.

The St. Sebastian Chapel was built right next to the column in 1650 .
