Petar Brucic , also Petar Bručić (born June 28, 1953 in Jarmina , Yugoslavia ) is a former professional footballer .

Club career

Brucic was born in the Croatian municipality of Jarmina in Slavonia . He began his career at the lower-class club Dinamo Vinkovci and moved to Dinamo Zagreb in the Croatian capital in 1975 . With Zagreb he reached the Yugoslav Cup final in his first season, but Zagreb lost against Hajduk Split 0-1 after extra time. In the Yugoslav championship he finished 3rd with Zagreb in his first season. Together with Brucic, Dinamo Zagreb took a place in the top 5 of the Yugoslav championship between the 1976/77 and 1980/81 seasons, with Zagreb winning the Yugoslav Cup in 1979/80. In 1981/82 Brucic finally managed to win his first championship title with Dinamo Zagreb. After the successful season for Brucic, he moved to SK Rapid Vienna in the summer of 1982 , where he won the championship and cup titles in his first season. Also in the following season 1983/84 the cup winner title could be achieved, the championship finished Brucic with Rapid in second place. In the European Champions Cup, Rapid made it to the quarter-finals. After Brucic had occupied second place in the championship with Rapid in the 1984/85 and 1985/86 seasons, he was Austrian champion for the second time with Rapid in 1986/87. In addition, Brucic was Austrian Cup winner in the 1984/85 season and in the 1986/87 season. In the European Cup of Cup winners, Rapid made it to the final in 1984/85, with Brucic himself missing the final due to a yellow card suspension. In the following seasons of the European Cup, the cup winner for Rapid was the final destination in the quarter-finals and the last sixteen.

Brucic moved to the Wiener Sport-Club in the summer of 1987 , where his new club was initially able to place itself in the midfield. In 1989/90 the sports club was able to prevent relegation to the 2nd division with a 2nd place in the middle play-off. At the end of the season, Brucic ended his active career in the Bundesliga. Most recently he was active for one season for the SR Donaufeld.
