Peter-Joseph Third Prize

Peter-Joseph Third Prize ( Russian Петер-Йозеф Дриттенпрейс, Пётр Александрович Дриттенпрейс ; born June 29, 1841 in Bavaria ; † January 5, 1912 in Moscow ) was a Moscow architect of German descent.

Third Prize studied at the Imperial Art Academy in Saint Petersburg from 1859 to 1865 . In 1874 he took Russian citizenship.

He was mainly involved in the construction of railroad objects. From 1880 to 1900 he designed houses for various Moscow builders, mostly old merchant families. These buildings were kept in the style of eclecticism . It was not until 1898–1901 that he designed the Rachmanov House on Pokrowka Street in a clear Art Nouveau style .

Third Prize was elected chairman of the Moscow Club of Germans in 1892. He was buried in the Vvedenskoye cemetery .

His son, Vladimir Petrovich Third Prize (1878-1916), was an architect and painter. In 1915 he had his name changed to Goncharov (after his mother).
