Peter Burggräf (born June 13, 1980 in Remscheid ) is a German engineer and has held the chair for “International Production Engineering and Management” at the University of Siegen since 2017 . He also heads the factory planning department at RWTH Aachen together with Günther Schuh . He is a member of the supervisory board of the electric vehicle manufacturer e.GO Mobile AG and managing director of StreetScooter Research GmbH.

Life

From 2001 to 2007 Peter Burggräf studied mechanical engineering at RWTH Aachen University. Five years later, in April 2012, he received his doctorate in engineering with distinction. After studying at RWTH Aachen University and the University of St. Gallen , he acquired his executive MBA. During his doctorate, he worked as a research assistant, then as a group leader for factory planning and from 2011 as a senior engineer at the machine tool laboratory (WZL) at RWTH Aachen University under the direction of Achim Kampker and Günther Schuh . During this time, in 2012 he became managing director of StreetScooter Research GmbH, a spin-off from RWTH Aachen University for advising the industry with a focus on small-scale automotive series and e-mobility. In 2014 he also became managing director of PEM Aachen GmbH.

Peter Burggräf is a co-founder of various congresses, industrial workshops and research groups as well as the founder of the demonstration factory at the University of Siegen and initiator of the Building the Future event .

He has been a member of the supervisory board of e.GO Mobile AG since 2015.

In April 2017 he was appointed professor at the University of Siegen, where he holds the chair in International Production Engineering and Management .

Peter Burggräf was named Professor of the Year 2019 in the Engineering / Computer Science category by the UNICUM Foundation!
