The Guardian Nunatak (English for protector nunatak ) is a 210 m high nunatak on the Dufek coast in the Antarctic Ross Dependency . It rises from an icy ridge of Mount Robert Scott that extends east-northeast and extends to the western edge of the Hood Glacier near its confluence with the Ross Ice Shelf .
Participants of the New Zealand Alpine Club Antarctic Expedition (1959-1960) named it after its geographical position at the entrance to the Hood Glacier.
