The Dufek Coast is a stretch of coast in the Antarctic Ross Dependency . It extends along the southern edge of the Ross Ice Shelf between Airdrop Peak on the east flank of Beardmore Glacier in the west and Morris Peak on the east flank of Liv Glacier in the east. It borders the Shackleton Coast to the west and the Amundsen Coast to the east .
The New Zealand Antarctic Place-Names Committee named the coast in 1961 after the American Rear Admiral George J. Dufek (1903-1977), among other things commander of the support units of the United States Navy in Antarctica from 1954 to 1959 and head of the first Operation Deep Freeze (1955-1956).
