Peter C. Hägele

Peter C. Hägele (* 1941 in Stuttgart ) is a German physicist .

Life

From 1978 until his retirement in 2006, Hägele was Professor of Physics at the Department of Applied Physics at Ulm University . There he led a theoretical working group that dealt with the calculation of chain conformations and chain packings ( molecular modeling ), lattice dynamics and phase transitions for a quantitative understanding of polymers. For a long time he has also dealt with epistemological topics and the relationship between Christian faith and the natural sciences. He is a founding member of the Karl Heim Society and a member of the board of trustees of the SMD Institute for Faith and Science . It is important to him to argue and confess that there is no contradiction in being a Christian and a scientist at the same time. He does this in many lectures on this topic at universities and in communities. He also heads working groups at the Center for General Scientific Further Education (ZAWiW) and is a lecturer at the Humboldt Study Center for Humanities and Philosophy (HSZ) at Ulm University.

Peter C. Hägele is married and has four children.
