Peter Denz (born January 14, 1940 in Freiburg im Breisgau ) is a German engineer , inventor , entrepreneur and Oscar winner.

Life

After studying aircraft construction in Zurich and Munich, the qualified engineer Peter Denz founded the Precision Development DENZ Manufacturing GmbH in 1970, which specializes in the development, manufacture and sale of high-tech precision products for industry as well as development , who specialized in the production and distribution of cinematographic film and video products and of which he is now the managing partner.

For the development of a flicker-free color video camera, Peter Denz received the Oscar for technical achievement (Technical Achievement Award) from the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS) in 1996 .

In the same year he was also given the Cinec Award in the field of camera technology.
