Peter Friedrich Conerus

Peter Friedrich Conerus (* around 1767 in Weene; † June 19, 1861 in Norden (Ostfriesland) ) was mayor of the city of Norden from 1815 to 1853.

Act

During the time of his mayor, he founded the first vocational school in the then independent Kingdom of Hanover . In 1829 this school was opened for the commercial youth. Thus, the vocational school in the north as the successor to this trade school is one of the oldest vocational schools. In 2008 BBS Norden was named Conerus School by the district council of the Aurich district .

The listed Conerusspeicher at Heringstraße 4, a three-storey warehouse building made of brick with original wooden beam ceilings, was built in 1808 by Peter Friedrich Conerus and named after him.
