Björn Peter Gärdenfors (born September 21, 1949 ) is a Swedish philosopher and professor of cognitive science at Lund University . In 1974 he received his PhD with a thesis on Group Decision Theory . As one of Sweden's most internationally influential philosophers, he is a member of the Vitterhets Academies and the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences . In 1996 he received the Rausing Prize. In 2003 he was elected a member of the Leopoldina .

Research interest

In his research, Gärdenfors is interested in the philosophy of science , decision theory , belief revision and non-monotonous logical reasoning .
