Peter Gendolla

Peter Gendolla (* 1950 in Harsum ) is a German literary and media scholar .

Gendolla studied art history, philosophy and literary studies in Hanover and Marburg , where he worked in 1979 at the Philipps University in Marburg with the construction and destruction of the automatic doll. To the history of the machine man and its literary figure with Jean Paul and ETA Hoffmann was doctorate . Then he moved to the University of Siegen , where he dealt in 1987 with fantasies of asceticism. Habilitated on the creation of inner images using the example of the "Temptation of St. Anthony" . From 1987 to 1992 he held a professorship for modern German literary studies / general literary studies there. Further professorships followed, for example at the Ruhr University in Bochum . Gendolla also organizes congresses and symposia in the field of literature, art and media / technologies.
