Peter Gustafsson (born August 17, 1976 in Orust ) is a Swedish professional golfer on the European Tour . He always wears brightly colored sun hats at tournaments.

He became a professional golfer in 1999 and played the second-ranked Challenge Tour from 2000 . After 2001 he lost his eligibility to play due to sciatica and had to fight his way back through the regional, third-tier Nordic League . Back on the Challenge Tour in 2003, Gustafsson won the Tour School in 2004 to qualify for the big European Tour . In his first season he only missed a title win in the play-off against his compatriot Peter Hanson , and at the prestigious Omega European Masters Gustafsson was only defeated by the Spanish world-class golfer Sergio Garcia. At the end of the season he was an impressive 46th on the European Tour Order of Merit .
