Peter Hanson (born October 4, 1977 in Trelleborg , Sweden ) is a Swedish professional golfer who plays on the European Tour and the PGA Tour .
After a very successful amateur career, during which Hanson won three professional tournaments on the Swedish Telia Tour in addition to the important English Amateur Stroke Play Championship , he became a professional golfer in 1998 .
After some ups and downs, Hanson was able to establish himself on the European Tour from the 2004 season, where he achieved his first victory in 2005 - at the Jazztel Open de España en Andalucía . In that year he was appointed to the continental European team for the Seve Trophy for the first time and achieved a remarkable ranking with 23rd place in the European Tour Order of Merit , which he was able to surpass with 20th place in 2007 and 16th in 2008 and 2009, before Hanson finished 13th in the 2011 season. In the 2012 season he was able to achieve his best result so far with fourth place in the final ranking of the Race to Dubai .
At the Masters 2012, Hanson led after three rounds and finally achieved his best result at Major Championships with a shared third place .
Since 2012 Hanson has also played on the US PGA Tour , which he finished in 2013 in 127th place on the money list.
