Peter Hanisch (sports official)
Peter Artur Wilhelm Hanisch (* 1935 ) is a former German sports official.
Career
Hanisch was a member of the Presidium of the Landessportbund Berlin for 35 years and headed the organization as honorary president for nine years. In 2005 he brought the International German Gymnastics Festival to Berlin.
He was also president of the Berlin Athletics Association and the Berlin Gymnastics Association, member of the executive board of the German Athletics Association and the German Sports Association , chairman of the German Sports Youth and President of the European Police Sports Union, member of the supervisory board of the Berlin swimming pools and chairman of the Berlin Sports Foundation Board of Trustees.
As head of organization, he was in charge of the 1995 World Gymnaestrada and the 1997 World Rhythmic Gymnastics Championships . In 2009, he was a member of the Organizing Committee of the World Athletics Championships .
