Career

The goalkeeper Peter Hellmann began his career in the junior team of the ECD Iserlohn and made his debut as a 16-year-old in the 2nd Bundesliga North during the 1991/92 season . After the insolvency of the club, a successor club was founded in 1994 with the Iserlohner EC and Hellmann was part of the squad of the team playing in the 2nd division north. In 1998, Hellmann qualified with the Iserlohner EC for the newly created second-class Bundesliga, which was to be renamed the 2nd Bundesliga a year later.

In 2000, the Iserlohner EC acquired the DEL license from Starbulls Rosenheim and played as Iserlohn Roosters in the top German division. Peter Hellmann, however, moved to the Herford EC in the third-class Oberliga Nord. At the end of the season, Herford had to withdraw their team for financial reasons and Peter Hellmann ended his career.
