Peter Jánosi

Peter Jánosi (* 1960 in Vienna ) is an Austrian Egyptologist .

From 1981 to 1988 Jánosi studied history, Egyptology and archeology at the University of Vienna . In 1988 Jánosi received his doctorate in philosophy. In the same year he was employed at the University of Vienna in the subject of Egyptology, where he completed his habilitation in 2001. Jánosi has worked as an archaeologist in Egypt since 1983, including working on the excavations at Tell el-Dab'a . Jánosi is particularly concerned with the archeology, history and architectural history of ancient Egypt, with a research focus on the so-called pyramid era .
