Peter K. Klein

Peter K. Klein (born 1942 ) is a German medievalist and art historian.

Life

Peter K. Klein studied at the University of Münster , at the University of Heidelberg and received his doctorate in 1970 with a thesis on the Beatus Code from the University of Bonn . He completed his habilitation in 1982. Klein taught at the universities of Pittsburgh, Lexington, Geneva, Paris-Nanterre, Bamberg, Regensburg, Los Angeles and Marburg.

In 1995, Klein was appointed full professor at the Art History Institute at the University of Tübingen . He was involved in the planned special research area "Exemplarism, Paradigmatics and Modeling in Culture". Klein has retired since 2007.

His main research interests are illumination, sculpture and iconography of the Middle Ages, Spanish art history and anti-Semitism in the visual arts.
