Courier in the Mountains (original title: Trzecia Granica , German: The third border ) is a Polish television series that focuses on the experiences of the ski athlete and mountain guide Andrzej Bukowian.

After the start of World War II decides to move from Highlanders Andrzej Bukowian from Zakopane , former downhill skier , Olympic athlete and mountain guide at the mountain rescue service, as a soldier of the Polish Army to Hungary . Thousands of his comrades are interned there. Andrzej, however, decides to return to his homeland.

Together with Antek Wichniewicz, he embarks on an adventurous path through the Tatra Mountains . Back in his homeland, he joins the resistance and takes on courier jobs in the mountains.

background

The series was produced in 1975 by the Polish film studio "Illusion" for Polish and Hungarian television. The literary model was the novel of the same name by Adam Bahdaj , who also wrote the screenplay for the series.

Directed by Wojciech Solarz (episodes 1, 2, 6, 7 and 8) and Lech Lorentowicz (episodes 3, 4 and 5), the cameraman was Sándor Kocsis .

The DEFA Studio for Synchronization in Berlin-Johannisthal produced the German synchronized version for television in the GDR . The dialogue books were by Klaus Marschke and Eberhard Richter, dialogue directors were carried out by Dagmar Nawroth and Arno Wolf.

The German-language first broadcast of the series took place from November 16, 1979 on Fridays at 5.45 p.m. on the first program of GDR television.
