Johan Devrindt (born April 14, 1945 in Lommel ) is a former Belgian football player .

Career

society

Devrindt started playing football in the youth of VV Overpelt Fabriek in his hometown of Lommel. In 1964 he made his debut at RSC Anderlecht . He stayed there for six years. During this time he won the Belgian championship four times in a row and the Belgian soccer cup once .

In 1970 Devrindt moved to the Netherlands for PSV Eindhoven . Two years later he returned to Belgium, where he played for Club Bruges until 1974 . This was followed by a two-year commitment at KSC Lokeren .

In 1976, at the age of 32, Devrindt moved to FC Winterslag for four seasons . In 1980 he went to the RAA La Louvière in the Belgian second division . From 1981 he played at KVK Tienen , where he ended his playing career in 1982 at the age of 38.

National team

Devrindt made his debut in September 1964 in a friendly against the Netherlands for the Belgian national team , which consisted entirely of players from RSC Anderlecht after substituting goalkeeper Jean-Marie Trappeniers .

In 1970 he was in the squad for the World Cup in Mexico , where he was used in the preliminary round matches against El Salvador (3-0) and Mexico (0-1).

In the qualifying games for the European Football Championship in 1972 , he scored both goals for Belgium in the preliminary round matches against group opponents Denmark 2-0 on November 25, 1970 in Bruges and 2-1 in the second leg in Copenhagen on May 26, 1971. After successfully qualifying , Devrindt was not appointed to the Belgian squad for the finals in his own country.

He played his last international match on September 27, 1975 in the qualifier for the 1976 European Championship against the GDR .

Johan Devrindt completed a total of 23 international matches for the Belgian national team, in which he scored 15 goals.
