Peter Axel William Locke King, 5th Earl of Lovelace (born November 26, 1951 - January 31, 2018 ) was a British nobleman and politician .

Life

He was the son of Peter King, 4th Earl of Lovelace and his second wife Lis Manon Transö. When his father died on December 4, 1964, he inherited the title of 5th Earl of Lovelace as well as the title of 5th Viscount Ockham and 12th Baron King, which was subordinate to this title, at the age of 13 . A hereditary seat in the House of Lords was associated with the titles at that time , which he could actually take up when he reached the age of 21. He remained a member of the House of Lords until November 11, 1999, when the hereditary parliamentary seats were abolished by the House of Lords Act 1999 .

The Earl of Lovelace married Kirsteen Oihrig Kennedy in 1980, from whom he divorced in 1989. The marriage remained childless. In 1994 he married Kathleen Anne Rose Smolders for the second time. Since this marriage also remained childless, his titles expired on his death in 2018.
