Peter Klimesch (born May 14, 1940 in Nuremberg ) is a German former secondary school teacher and author. His subjects are Munich and here mainly the Isar in Munich and the Munich-Au district .

Life

Peter Klimesch was born in Nuremberg and grew up between the Danube and the Bavarian Forest. Klimesch studied at the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich a. a. Theater studies, German studies and geography. With an approval thesis on the Munich beer gardens, he qualified for teaching at secondary schools. He taught German, geography and social studies. He has lived in Munich since he began his studies in 1959. As an enthusiastic cyclist and angler, he always maintains close contact with the Isar River and is involved in numerous activities that aim to protect and preserve listed substances in his home environment.

Works

After his retirement, the former secondary school teacher mainly dealt with the history of his living environment. This is on the one hand the historic Au district of Munich and on the other the Isar. He has published two richly illustrated books about the Au at BoD: "Drunt in dergrün Au" and "Bilder aus der alten Au". Another illustrated book about the Au with the title "Pictures from the old Au. The Lilienstraße" was self-published in April 2019. His second area of ​​interest is the Isar, which he is familiar with as a long-time Isar fisherman. His first book on the Isar, entitled "Isarlust", published by Münchenverlag in 2011, he self-published his "Münchner Isarbuch" in 2017.
