Peter Kowalsky

Peter Kowalsky (born March 16, 1968 in Bad Neustadt an der Saale , Lower Franconia ) is a German entrepreneur.

Life

He is one of two sons of the brewer's daughter Sigrid Peter from her first marriage to the brewing engineer Bernd Kowalsky and heir to the shares in the Ostheim private brewery Peter-Bräu. From 1989 to 1995 he studied at the Weihenstephan Science Center for Nutrition, Land Use and Environment at the Technical University of Munich and graduated as a brewing engineer. From 1996 he worked as the technical manager in the private brewery in Ostheim, which was about to go bankrupt.

With the brewery shareholder, master brewer and stepfather Dieter Leipold as partner, the mother's second husband and actual inventor, Kowalsky developed the organic fizzy drink Bionade . From 1997 Kowalsky was a managing partner of Bionade International GmbH, responsible for research and development as well as for marketing and sales. He performed the same function and task at Bionade GmbH from 2002 to 2012.

In 2012 the Kowalsky family sold their remaining shares in Bionade to the Radeberger food company . Since then he has made his knowledge available to young entrepreneurs as part of the Sustainable Business Angels initiative . The aim of the initiative is to implement corporate social responsibility in the structure of start-ups.

Kowalsky lives in Berlin, is married and has a daughter.

Awards

In 2007, Kowalsky was voted " Eco Manager of the Year " by the environmental organization WWF Germany and the magazine Capital . The media group Axel Springer AG honored him as "Medium-sized company of the year".
