Peter Menger

Peter Menger (born September 17, 1977 in Lahn-Gießen ) is a German doctor , musician , composer and author .

Live and act

Peter Menger attended the Ludwig-Uhland-Schule in Gießen from 1984 to 1988 and then switched to the August-Hermann-Francke-Schule there , which he completed in 1997 with the general university entrance qualification. This was followed by community service at Malteser Hilfsdienst in Giessen, before he began studying human medicine at the Justus Liebig University in Giessen (JLU) in 1998 . After the Physikum 2000 and the First State Examination in 2001, I spent a semester abroad at the University of Cádiz , Spain. After passing the second state examination in 2004, he completed a practical year for internal medicine at JLU Giessen, for neurology at the St. Vincenz Hospital Limburgand for surgery at the Universidad Católica del Ecuador . The third state examination and license to practice medicine followed in 2005 . From 2005 he was an assistant doctor in surgery at the Evangelical Hospital in Gießen. In 2008 he received his doctorate from JLU Giessen with his dissertation The predictive value of acute testing with inhaled nitric oxide on the clinical effect of high-dose calcium antagonists in patients with severe pulmonary hypertension as a doctor of medicine .

After graduating from high school, Menger decided against a career as a professional musician, but retained his love for music. At times he accompanied the Perspektiven choir as a pianist . In 2009, he reduced his position as a trauma surgeon at the Weilburg Clinic to 60% in order to have more time for his children and the choir. He has now composed over 200 songs and eight musicals. In 2016 he and his wife started working with the children's choir Königskinder Hüttenberg of the Evangelical Free Congregation Hüttenberg , which is part of the Evangelical Society for Germany . 130 children meet there for rehearsals every week. He accompanies him as a pianist, his wife conducts the choir. In 2019 the Christmas musical "Willkommen im Stall" was created.

Private

Peter and his wife Deborah are both medical professionals. They met in a choir in 1995, fell in love, got married and had four children. The family lives in Lützellinden .
