Peter Paltchik (born January 4, 1992 ) is an Israeli judoka . In 2018 he was third at the European Championships .

Athletic career

Peter Paltchik initially fought in the weight class up to 90 kilograms. In this weight class, he was second in the European Junior Championships in 2011 and Israeli champion in 2013. In 2014 he was promoted to light heavyweight, the weight class up to 100 kilograms. In 2014 and 2015 he was the Israeli champion in this weight class. At the 2015 European Games , he was eliminated in the round of 16 against Frenchman Cyrille Maret .

In 2017 he finished seventh at the European Championships in Warsaw . In 2018 he won a Grand Prix tournament for the first time in Tbilisi. At the 2018 European Championships in front of his home crowd in Tel Aviv, he lost to Cyrille Maret in the semifinals, and won the battle for a bronze medal against the Russian Niias Bilalow . In October 2018 he defeated Elmar Qasımov from Azerbaijan in the final of the Grand Slam tournament in Abud Dhabi . At the beginning of 2020 he won the Grand Prix tournament in Tel Aviv and a fortnight later the Grand Slam tournament in Paris .
