Peter Rehder (Slavist)
Peter Rehder (born March 8, 1939 in Schwerin ) is a German Slavist .
After studying Slavic Studies at the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich , Peter Rehder received his doctorate in 1967 and then took up a position as an assistant at the same university. After his habilitation in 1978, he became professor of Slavic and Balkan philology there in 1982 and remained so until his retirement in 2004.
Peter Rehder has published mainly on older language levels and the South Slavic languages and literatures. He is also the editor of the magazine Die Welt der Slaven and several Slavic series (including Slavic articles ).
Rehder established the " Alois Schmaus Foundation" at the University of Munich in 1988 and was Chairman of the Board of Trustees for decades.
