Peter Schran

Peter Schran (* 1949 in Schmallenberg-Oberkirchen ) is a German TV journalist, filmmaker and producer.

Life

After completing his commercial training, Peter Schran graduated from high school on the second educational path. In 1978 he was able to complete his teaching degree in Cologne and became a music manager for “Independence Labels” and a producer. From 1983 Schran was a freelance radio journalist, from 1990 a TV reporter and documentaryist. He became a pioneer of TV documentaries on violence prevention and founded MIGRA-Filmproduktion GmbH in Cologne in 1994. Since then, Schran has been working as a producer and author for MIGRA-Film.

He worked on around 50 longer TV social documentaries and reports for clients WDR, SWR, ZDF, Arte and Stern TV. Peter Schran made further contributions for the ARD editorial team MONITOR and also video documentation for social associations and institutions. Since 2007 he has been the managing director of MIGRA-Filmproduktionen & Reportagen GmbH. Schran is a member of the Documentary Film Working Group .
