Peter Schwieger
Peter Schwieger (* 1946 ) is a German oriental scholar and professor of Tibetology at the University of Bonn .
After studying comparative religion , philosophy and Tibetology, Peter Schwieger became a research assistant at the Göttingen Academy of Sciences in 1978 . In 1982 he received his doctorate in Tibetology in Bonn , and in 1995 he received his habilitation . In 2001 he received a visiting professorship for Tibetology at the Humboldt University in Berlin , and since September 2001 he has held a chair for Tibetology at the Department of Mongolian and Tibetan Studies at the Institute for Oriental and Asian Studies (IOA) at the University of Bonn.
