Peter St. Clair-Erskine, 7th Earl of Rosslyn

Peter St. Clair-Erskine, 7th Earl of Rosslyn CVO (born March 31, 1958 ) is an independent British politician and Commander of the Metropolitan Police Service in London . Professionally, he uses the name Peter Loughborough (derived from his subordinate title Lord Loughborough). The Earl's land holdings also include the world famous Rosslyn Chapel .

Life

Peter St. Clair-Erskine is the son of Anthony Hugh Francis Harry St. Clair-Erskine, the 6th Earl of Rosslyn and Athenais de Rochechouart de Mortemart. He attended Eton College and the University of Bristol . After his father's death in 1977, he inherited his title Earl of Rosslyn and the seat in the House of Lords . Peter St. Clair-Erskine joined the Metropolitan Police in 1980. In 2003 he was appointed head of the Royalty and Diplomatic Protection Command (now renamed Protection Command ). As part of the traditional British New Year Honors ( New Years Honors ) In 2009 he received the Queen's Police Medal . Peter St. Clair-Erskine was one of the Lords who kept their seat in the House of Lords under the House of Lords Act 1999 . As a crossbencher, he does not represent any party there. He is also a board member of the Rosslyn Chapel Trust.
