Peter Stahlknecht

Peter Stahlknecht (born April 5, 1933 in Leipzig ) is a German business IT specialist who is considered to be the co-founder of the subject. Stahlknecht had held a chair for business informatics at the University of Osnabrück since 1981 , where he was head of the Institute for Information Management and Corporate Management. In 1998 Stahlknecht retired.

The textbook Introduction to Business Informatics , published together with Ulrich Hasenkamp , is considered to be one of the standard works in the field.

Life

After completing his doctorate, Peter Stahlknecht worked in practice for a long time. a. at the Leuna works ( Merseburg ), Preussag in Hanover and the data center of the financial administration of North Rhine-Westphalia in Düsseldorf.

He wrote his first habilitation in business informatics and subsequently switched to a professorship for business informatics at the Free University of Berlin from 1976 .

Stahlknecht was for many years co-editor of the business informatics magazine , the leading organ of the subject in Germany.
