Peter Thiele (graphic designer)
Peter Thiele (born October 12, 1938 in Nuremberg ) is a German graphic designer , artist and university professor.
Life
Peter Thiele is the fourth child of the landscape architect Hermann Thiele (1906–2001) from Nuremberg and the twin brother of the landscape architect Gerhard Thiele . A younger brother is also a designer.
He studied graphics at the Folkwang School and the State Academy of Fine Arts Stuttgart . First he worked as an art teacher in Westphalia, from 1969 teaching at the higher technical college for graphics and advertising in Nuremberg (predecessor of the Georg-Simon-Ohm-Fachhochschule Nuremberg). In 1977 he received the advancement award of the city of Nuremberg . In 1979 he became a professor at the Georg Simon Ohm University of Applied Sciences in Nuremberg , where he taught design theory, printmaking, drawing and illustration.
In 1991, Peter Thiele was visiting professor at the Canberra Institute of Art , Australia.
His works have been exhibited many times at home and abroad. He is a member of the artist group Der Kreis .
