Peter Unger

Peter Unger (born August 2, 1944 in Gossengrün , Sudetenland ) is a German entrepreneur . He is the founder of the auto accessories trade Auto -teile -Unger (ATU).

Life

Unger grew up in Neustadt an der Waldnaab in a family of expellees as the son of a confectioner. He built up a tire business, which he sold in 1984. The proceeds he invested in his new company, the car accessories ATU, which he expanded to 2002 to become the leading distributor of automotive accessories, and then to the private equity -Investor Co Doughty Hanson & sold.

Peter Unger is married with two children and lives in Neustadt . The billionaire is considered to be very public shy. At the time of the sale, Unger still held 19% of ATU, but wanted to reduce it. In the meantime he operates a. a. a company that sells pet food. Unger ranked 105th on the list of the richest Germans in 2013.
