Peter Weckmann

Peter Weckmann (born April 25, 1952 in Wattenscheid ) is a German politician ( SPD ). From 2009 to 2010 and from May 2012 to May 2017 he was a member of the state parliament of North Rhine-Westphalia .

education and profession

Weckmann graduated from high school in 1972 . He then did his community service with the workers' welfare. From 1974 to 1988 he studied special education at the University of Dortmund and educational sciences at the University of Essen and graduated as a qualified teacher.

Weckmann is married and has a daughter.

politics

Weckmann has been a member of the SPD since 1970. From 1975 to 1980 he was a member of the Arbitration Commission in the SPD sub-district of Gelsenkirchen, where he temporarily served as deputy chairman. From 1980 to 1990 he was active in the SPD local association Gelsenkirchen-Bulmke and was also involved in the SPD sub-district Gelsenkirchen from 1976 to 1990. Weckmann is a member of the ver.di union .

From 1970 to 1998 Weckmann held various voluntary activities and functions in the youth association Socialist Youth in Germany - Die Falken at local, state and federal level.

On January 2, 2009, he replaced Harald Schartau in the state parliament of North Rhine-Westphalia . He was no longer represented in the state parliament elected in 2010. In 2012 he won the direct mandate in the Essen IV constituency , but left the state parliament in 2017.
