Peter Wilfred Novecosky
Peter Wilfred Novecosky OSB (born April 27, 1945 ) is a Canadian religious priest and abbot of Saint Peter-Muenster .
Life
Peter Wilfred Novecosky joined the Congregation of Benedictine at and received on 11 July 1970, the priestly ordination . He was elected Abbot of Saint Peter - Muenster on July 23, 1990 , and Pope John Paul II confirmed the election on October 19 of the same year. Until 1998, as abbot of the territorial abbey of St. Peter in Muenster, an abbey with an attached bishopric- like area, he held the jurisdiction of a bishop , but not his ordination. He was a member of the local episcopal conference . In 1998 the function was transferred to the Saskatoon diocese .
