Peter von Wilmowsky

Peter von Wilmowsky (* 1956 ) is a German law scholar and university professor .

Life

After studying law and economics at the Universities of Würzburg , Göttingen and Frankfurt am Main , Wilmowsky's first state examination in law followed in 1980. He passed the second state examination in 1983. He then studied in 1983 and 1984 at the University of California at Berkeley . He completed these studies with a Master of Laws . From 1984 to 1985 Wilmowsky was a visiting researcher at Harvard Law School . After returning from the United States of America , he took up a position as a research assistant at Eckard Rehbinder at the University of Frankfurt am Main and at the Federal Government's Advisory Council for Environmental Issues in Wiesbaden , both of which he held until 1994. 1989 followed with the work waste management in the domestic market: European problems and American experiences the doctorate at the University of Frankfurt. Also in Frankfurt, he was with the work in 1994 European Kreditsicherungsrecht: property law and insolvency law under the EC Treaty habilitation .

Wilmowsky initially accepted an appointment at the University of Hanover in 1996 , and in 2000 he followed another call to the newly founded Faculty of Political Science at the University of Erfurt , to the chair for civil law and legal fact research . Since 2006 he has held the chair for civil law, insolvency law , European and international business law at the Johann Wolfgang Goethe University in Frankfurt am Main.

Research priorities

Wilmowsky specializes in civil law, in particular insolvency law as well as German, European and international business law. He advises the states of Armenia , Bosnia and Croatia on insolvency legislation.
