Peterview is a small municipality ( town ) in the Canadian province of Newfoundland and Labrador .
Peterview is located in the north of the island of Newfoundland on the Bay of Exploits . The place was originally called Peters Arm , but was renamed Peterview in 1962 . A French sawmill was built around 1800 . After that, the population grew rapidly. Peterview has a softball field, a post office and a gas station. Schools, a hospital, a swimming pool and a shopping center are located in nearby Botwood .
The 2016 census showed a population of 828 for the municipality. In 2006 there were 807 inhabitants, in 2011 there were 809 inhabitants.
