European Parliament Committee on Petitions

The Committee on Petitions (PETI) is one of the twenty standing committees of the European Parliament . The committee chairman has been Dolors Montserrat ( PP / EPP ) since July 2019 .

Areas of responsibility

The committee meetings take place at least once a month. The committee members discuss the legislative proposals put forward and the subsequent amendments. It is not uncommon for reports or expert opinions to be consulted. The sessions are also available to the public via video stream .

The committee deals with the petitions sent to the European Parliament and works with the European Ombudsman .
