Petra is a German women's magazine that has been part of the portfolio of the Klambt media group in Hamburg since 2018.

The editor-in-chief of the monthly magazine is Sabine Bartels.

Petra positions itself in the women's magazine market with a mix of topics of fashion, beauty and lifestyle.

history

PETRA was first published in 1964 by the Hamburg-based Constanze publishing house with the title Petra - the women's magazine without equal. The content concept came from Hans Huffzky , the first editor-in-chief. Petra was later taken over by the Jahreszeiten Verlag.

In September 2018, the Klambt media group acquired Petra and petra.de and has been publishing the women's magazine ever since.

Sabine Bartels has been editor-in-chief of Petra since November 2019 .

Circulation statistics

In the fourth quarter of 2019, the average sold circulation according to IVW was 89,874 copies. That is 5.19% less than in the same quarter of the previous year (94,794). The average sold circulation in retail stores increased by 21.27% to 26,584 copies within one year, while the number of subscribers decreased by 32.41% to 12,456.
